WHY ARE YOU STILL ON THE SHOW?!?!?!?!

Seriously, every week the judges complain about how Lisa doesn’t season her food properly. In my eyes that’s a cardinal sin and shows that she just has no tastebuds… because all of her “confessionals” are her talking about how her “flavors are there.” There’s also tons of clips of her tasting stuff and pondering whether it needs more salt or sweet or whatever. I just want to grab and twist her neck fat every time she makes a negative comment and acts overconfident in the ability she doesn’t have compared to the other chefs.
It’s not that Lisa isn’t thinking about it, it’s that she obviously can’t even taste that she isn’t salting her food properly. I’m also so not into the fact that she has all this confidence with ethnic foods that she constantly seems to fuck up and get criticized for (i.e. the lahksa she made for the episode Anthony Bourdain judged and the weird tostone shell bite thing she made on Wednesday). She’s obviously not going to win, so why won’t they kick her off? It’s not adding any drama having an obvious loser in the top three.
Considering that my love, Andrew, has now been kicked off, I’m totally rooting for Stephanie at this point. I really love her “can do” attitude and ability to deal with any situation with grace, humility, and honor. I’m seeing a parallel here… we’re close to two firsts in history close to having the first woman Top Chef and the United States’ first black president! CHANGE, people, CHANGE is in the air.

Yeah, I wish they’d sent Lisa home instead of Antonia, who is obviously more talented but made a “fatal” error in under-cooking her peas (although not as egregious as Dale’s butterscotch scallop monstrosity from a few weeks back).
As long as Lisa doesn’t win in the end I will be happy.

It was so, so wrong to send Antonia home the other night, which leads me to my pet peeve with TC, namely that they think they are achieving “pure judging” by disregarding past accomplishments or failures of the contestants in the elimination round. We therefore come to the abomination of Lisa (she who threw Andrew under the bus!) squeaking by the eminently more qualified Antonia who had a minor mental lapse by under cooking her pigeon peas (single mom, young daughter 4,000 miles away, just opened a restaurant… gee… I wonder why she wasn’t able to concentrate more on those peas?). If memory serves, Antonia was the winner of at least 3 elimination challenges and consistently finished among the top 3 chefs. The finale will only be of interest now to see Stephanie easily kick Lisa’s ass with class and “Chicago-style”.
