I sometimes make jokes about being a man-baby or how my friends behave like manbabies. But I just found out about this gem from 1973 about an actual manbaby. Enter The Baby:
Seriously I’m speechless.
Here’s another clip about what happens when breastfeeding continues into adulthood. It actually is borderline terrifying, but then the terrible mother appears and something about her is so reminiscent of Joan Crawford that I start cracking up.
I’m gonna watch the shit out of this movie this weekend.

I’m so happy to hear that someone else has heard of this film. I watched part of it as part of a horror movie film class I took a few summers ago. It was the worst class I’ve ever taken, but it at least provided me knowledge that this film exists. It’s great. Whenever I try to explain it to anyone, however, I get less-than-enthused responses. Allow me to say this much: As fucked up as these two scenes make the movie seem, the ending is monstrously more fucked up in ways even the most cynical viewer might not be able to anticipate.
It just recently became available through Netflix again, I think, so you all now have no excuse not to see it.
Bonus points: One of the daughters — the blonde one, I think — was in The Godfather, Part II. I saw The Baby first, however, so I was probably the only person in history who saw her in The Godfather and thought “Shit! It’s that girl from The Baby!”

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s just dying for Playwrights Horizons or somebody to turn it into a musical.
