I’m not really one to try and do “year end round ups” like most blogs, mostly because my cultural memory only spans around 2 weeks. But this song that just came to my attention on the last day of 2k8 may win all the GMSC year end awards I am not giving out.

Muffy “Gone Hate”

[via JJS III at It’s The Money Shot]

Since my blog buddy JJS III posted his with a chat conversation recording the reaction, I’m just going to follow along with that meme. Of course the convo was with my now Gawker famous bestie Erin Williams (see her blog at Steeez) who is not on The City but is way cooler than the pouting “downtown girl” that hangs with Whitney Port. To those uninitiated in the world of RSS, we share things with eachother via Google Reader.

me:  OMG
YOU NEED TO SEE WHAT I JUST SHARED
Erin:  ok!
me:  MUFFY “Gone Hate”
new fave song
Erin:  wow.
me:  yeah
yeah

i like… hyperventilated
it’s soooooo good
Erin:  when.
she.

me:  these bitches they hate cuz I just put my new weave in

I Can Love Whoever I Want Kermit The Frog Might Be My True Spirit Animal

Ok. So Sorry I haven’t written in forever. I’ve been engaged in a very important project for my real job. You can see it here. I’m basically busy setting precedents for PBS online content and trying my best to get them to “get with it” so that we can still have a place where non-commercial academic media can be broadcast to the masses. These things are important and it means this shitty blog written for 23 year old gay men who act like 16 year old girls has fallen by the wayside. That and the fact that my other co-writers rarely write. Blame them too.But in this absence some important things happened. And that is this video, LCD Soundsystem’s “New York I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down” sung by Kermit:

Considering that Kermit the Frog singing The Carpenters’ “Rainbow Connection” is my favorite thing ever, I think you might understand why I love James Murphy’s new online video featuring him so much. Srsly. CAN’T STOP WATCHING. If I was on the Webby panel of judges, that James Murphy’s new video would win video of the year. In case you forgot… here’s the original “Rainbow Connection” featuring Kermit. Love it so hard.

I think that perhaps my spirit animal might be more like Kermit than like a a Monkey Faced Pig.

I Can Love Whoever I Want Caligula For President, Everyone

Cintra Wilson has made this great little PSA. It reminds me of how when I used to play Risk, I always said that my army was the empire of Caligula. The reason I always was defeated first was because of my hedonistic sodomite ways. We were just too busy drinking, butt fucking, and eating glass as an erotic act to give worry about fighting in wars. While I don’t exactly understand the rationale that somehow that would be the perfect revenge on Dubya, the video still rocks.

 Lesbian Symbol

Just because I like dick doesn’t mean I don’t know a thing or two about homosexual women.  Sure, all we really share in common is mass persecution, but that doesn’t mean I can’t put my feelers out there.  In fact, I’ve lived in Park Slope - one of the lezziest neighborhoods in New York and the United States - for three years!  In my neighborhood, 3/4 of the guys I check out almost always turn out to be well-groomed dykes (to whom I tip my hat).  We’re both into dogs, the outdoors, and lumberjack shirts, so - yeahhh - I think I can say a thing or two about the gals.

So let us raise a glass and salute some awesome ladies of ‘the L word’ variety. After the jump, my top five fave ladies who love ladies. Read More!
