All The News That's Fit To Fist Isn’t She Lovely?

How do you guys feel about Michelle Obama? I love her. I’m totally a fan of hers on Facebook. Nothing represents truer love than the kind advertised through social networking sites. Nothing.

But seriously, I love her. Did you know that she wears “pearls you have to deal with”?

This last week I fell in love with her even more at the DNC. The following video is some highlights of her time in the media’s eye so far, from her new signature greeting to the way she stands by her man to how she doesn’t wear pantyhose.  She also REALLY loves to talk about the time when women finally got the right to vote. Remember that time? Those suffragists were really great. Miss them so much.

Who The Fuck Is That Hipster? All The Ingrediants For A Crushable Electro Artist: Unicorns, Video Games, Naked Torso

I think I have a knew celebrity crush. No joke. Nick Littlemore from the Australian electro house group, PNAU. Love him. I mean, he takes pictures of himself wrapped around a unicorn (he’s the one on the right)!

PNAU with Unicorn

I can only think of one other artist that has utilized a unicorn in her media image.

Mariah Carey with Unicorn

Also? His band has this amazing game that has nothing to do with their music. Granted the game isn’t so original, it’s basically SNOOD (or Bust-A Move, or a variety of other classic games) all over again. But considering that in the PNAU game, you shoot colored balls out of a stubby pink penis, evil tomatoes dance at the top, and a small alien lives in the corner of the screen, I have to say I far prefer the PNAU version just for the graphics alone. It’s the best usage of retro graphics and psychedelia in interactive marketing I’ve seen in a while. The only game I can think of that out does it better is the king of retro games online, Dino Run.

So we have video games, unicorns… and did I mention, as I found out via HRO today, he loves to take his shirt off? I just think that it’s adorable when guys who lack some sort of idealized body love showing off their own naked torso. He kind of has a beer pooch in his gut, and isn’t what I would call muscular or toned in any sense of the word. I guess maybe he could be called twinky? I hate reducing people to labels.

After the jump, every single possible picture of Nick Littlemore with his shirt off I could find online. Read More!

TV Is My Boyfriend Gay Pterodactyls Keep Me Awake At Night

Did you all watch Pro Ro (that’s an abbreviation for Project Runway, duh) this last Wednesday? It was a competition to make an outfit for a drag queen. It was fun seeing some recognizable New York drag personalities, like Sherry Vine (for which my evil Mormon twin, Keith, made an awful dress for her and was almost kicked off), Hedda Lettuce, Varla Jean Merman, and more on a reality television show. But even more interesting is my new fave Tim Gunn quote of all time. After seeing Blayne’s outfit, Tim Gunn remarks, “It looks like it’s a pterodactyl out of a gay Jurassic Park.” Granted, he’s partially right. I mean look at this thing:

Blaine's Gay Terrordactyl Outfit

I would more likely describe her as a neon warrior ready for battle in the electro wars of 2k11.5.

Whether or not Time Gunn’s description is accurate, it’s been haunting me in my dreams. What DOES a gay pterodactyl look like? Read More!

Cruisin' / Who The Fuck Is That Hipster? Let’s Cross This Rubicon

In my travels on the internet, I come across a lot of strange and wonderful things. This falls in the “wonderful” category. It’s by the POYKPAC, a comedy group that also produces Web series for IFC. You might remember them from when they created the virally popular Hipster Olympics. It’s their new video, posted a month ago, about a fictional PBS series called ‘Llectuals.

I’ll write something of substance this week once the people around me stop being pedantic and my life becomes more pedestrian.

America is getting it’s very own version of the famous Australian comedy, sitcom, Kath & Kim (Thanks for the tip on the video, Marlon).

Can I be excited about this? If I get excited about this am I only going to be let down? I really have a thing for Selma Blair. Remember when she had huge titties?

Selma Blair is Ursala Udders in A Dirty Shame

That was probably her best role ever, even better than when she was some sort of quiet, reflective superhero in Hellboy with powers that were basically just a strange rip off of Jubilee’s from X-Men.

I also really love Molly Shannon. Superstar was a really good movie. No joke, I honestly think it was. It may have helped that I was drunk when I saw it. I also think John Michael Higgins perhaps one of the funniest people on TV these days.

So am I setting myself up for a disappointment if I am hoping this might fill the post Arrested Development comedic void on network television? Probably. But I am willing to take the risk.

Best / Cruisin' Michael Joseph Gross Is Really Good At Online Cruising And Feels Guilty About It

What do you guys think about Manhunt? Did you know their founder donated to the John McCain campaign? Michael Joseph Gross has some things to say about it. He thinks that it may be destroying gay culture and wrote all about it in a recent article for Out magazine.

I’ve never been an avid reader of Out. It’s one of those general interest lifestyle mags that just doesn’t feature anything I generally am interested in purchasing and sells an ideal of beauty I honestly don’t find so attractive. I often also actually have difficulty figuring out the difference between Out, Details, and GQ? Seriously though, Gross’ article has honestly given me a newfound respect for the magazine. It’s ballsy, honest, and analytic on a subject that generally isn’t publicly discussed — the cultural prevalence of online cruising among gay men.

The couple times that I’ve dabbled on Manhunt were pretty much complete failures. I don’t own a digital camera and rely on what’s posted on my friend’s Flickr accounts making it impossible to create the sort of desirable, pornographic persona described by Gross, “a sexy image that stands separate from your physical self.” Besides, while I have no problem getting nude on the beach in public, I am extremely self conscious about posting a picture of my penis, a “dick pic,” online. Plus, who wants to see my tiny penis? It’s like a Ken doll down there.

Naked Ken Dolls

I think Gross is entirely right to be frustrated with what cruising sites our doing to our culture of desire, and it’s a frustration I share. I didn’t even have to leave Out magazine’s web site to find a perfect example. Seen these ads recently? Because they’re all over MySpace as well, targeted at gay profiles. Read More!

Retaygay / Who The Fuck Is That Hipster? I’ll Have A Burger With A Side of Tired Beats And Annoying Hooks

Have you guys seen this? If you’re cool, you probably have already since it was all over the internet yesterday.

It’s a new Cazwell single, predictably titled “I Saw Beyonce At Burger King,” released as a “viral video,” I am assuming, to try and get hype for his upcoming album Get Into It!

I really wanted to like it. Cazwell’s good looks (and kind of sexy crooked tooth?) make me think dirty thoughts, and it’s a proven fact that good looks can help make up for a lack of true musical talent. His first hit (if you can call it that, because it was probably only popular with urban gays), “All Over Your Face,” was catchy and fun, and the extras in the video are comprised of a large percentage of gay Williamsburg guys, many of whom company I enjoy the company of. But this new song is just annoying. Read More!

Good Times, Good Times Anyone know if Andrew Sullivan Needs A Good Houseboy?

I went away to Provincetown this weekend for my last true vacation of the summer. Best summer ever guys! We all need to keep in touch when we go college in the fall! Nothing can break the bonds of our friendship! I’m gonna miss you all so much!

You guys have all been to P-Town already, right? Because this was my first time and I’m a little bit in love with the place. I also came back with a set of Saved By The Bell “The College Years” trading cards, lip gloss in a container shaped like a toilet, and Celine Dion’s driver’s liscense (it’s class “DIVA”), gifted (pronounced jifted) to me by the incredibly funny Dina Martina. She’s a Seattle drag queen that brings drag to a transcendent level of comedy; I am hesitant to even call her a drag queen, because she’s just a drag creature. You just have to see one of her shows to understand, and I highly recommend it to any of you still going out to P-town this August.

I never really knew that a Cape Cod loving white Anglo Saxon Protestant lay deep within my hard working and drinking Irishman’s soul, but there’s one deep down in there, enjoying watercress and cucumber sandwiches, playing tennis, and arrogantly dismissing all poor people. After visiting, all I really want to do is run away for the next three months in a sea shanty on the beach, watch the weather turn into fall, and try and write the next great American novel.

The big gossip while I was there was that Andrew Sullivan had recently bought the last small apartment on the tip of Captain Jack’s. The place seriously looks like this:

Captain Jack's In Provincetown

How do I become Andrew Sullivan’s houseboy?

Yes, these homes might be whimsical and childish looking. I recognize this. They also kind of look like where the Pirates of the Carribean (from the Disneyland ride, not the ones in the movie based on the ride) might live. But I also find them to be completely desirable living accommodations? Is this ok or do I need to be saved from my own bad taste?

Men on Film Even The Fat Girl Fits In These Pants

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2

Throughout the past years, the sisterhood has kept us together through changes, loss, love, and taught us to believe in ourselves. The pants had the power to cause miracles…. because they fit all of us? Even the curvy girl. For realsies. That’s the premise of the original Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and last night I got to experience the long awaited sequel.

I think it very well be a testament to my character that I still haven’t seen The Dark Night but I have now seen both Mamma Mia! and SotTP 2. I think it means I just value having fun more than most people, but it may secretly mean that my brain is that of a 13 year old girl. You decide. If the latter, I blame the high levels of mercury in the tuna I eat and marijuana.

While the original Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants may be a near masterpiece of teen coming of age cinema, full of hope, change, loss, life experiences, and moments that make me cry, the second unfortunately suffers from sequel syndrome. I do still greatly appreciate the movie however, since it brings America Ferrara, Blake Lively, Amer Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel together in one place. Here comes my personal discussion of the movie, which is full of SPOILERS. So don’t read on if you care about this movie (why would you, again?). Read More!

Wait really? Have you guys seen this?

Tyra Banks as Michelle Obama

Really? Tyra Banks as Michelle Obama? For Harper’s Bazaar? Is this America’s Next Top First Lady? America’s Next Top Michelle Obama? I don’t even think Tyra can claim that she’s has the glamour and class really needed to pull something like this off… I mean she’s legitimately afraid of dolphins. Couldn’t they have gotten Iman or someone with international flavor and class?

‘Member this classic guys?

And there’s more where that came from! Read More!
